Former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Robert Sheran dies

Minnesota: Former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Sheran died on January 25th at the age of 96. Sheran served on the court from 1963 to 1970 and from 1973 to 1981.[1]
Sheran was an FBI special agent during World War II, and a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1947 to 1949.[2] Sheran, a Democrat, was first appointed to Minnesota's high court in 1963 by Republican Governor Elmer L. Andersen. Sheran stepped down from the court in 1970, but in 1973 he was made chief justice by Governor Wendell Anderson, a member of the Democratic Farm Labor Party. In order to ease the caseload of the Minnesota Supreme Court, Sheran helped create the Minnesota Court of Appeals in 1982.[2]
Sheran's daughter, Kathleen Sheran, is a member of the Minnesota State Senate.[2]
