Former Nebraska Chief Justice dies

Lincoln, Nebraska: William C. Hastings, former Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court, died on July 17, 2010 at the age of 89. Hastings had served on the Supreme Court from 1979 to 1995, when he retired. He became the chief justice in 1987. He helped establish the Nebraska Court of Appeals and addressed gender and racial discrimination issues in the courts.[1]
