Gary Bates is the superintendent of the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District. Gary Bates was appointed superintendent in July 2018. Bates' previous career experience includes working as the superintendent of Goodrich Independent School District, a principal, and an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas and Prairie View A&M University.[1]
