Karen Molinar is the superintendent of the Fort Worth Independent School District. She assumed the role as interim in October 2024 and took over full-time in February 2025.[1]

Members of the board are elected biennially in May to overlapping four-year terms.[6]

Five seats on the board were up for general election on May 3, 2025. The filing deadline for this election was February 14, 2025. The elections for District 4 and 8 were canceled after only one candidate filed in each race.
