Work and activities
Viewership
According to FBN, the network is available in more than 60 million homes in the U.S. as of 2025.[9]
2024 presidential election
On August 9, 2023, FBN announced that they would host the second Republican presidential primary debate along with Univision and Rumble. The debate was held in at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, on September 27, 2023.[10] FBN's Stuart Varney, Fox News' Dana Perino, and Univision's Ilia Calderón co-moderated.
Doug Burgum, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Mike Pence, and Vivek Ramaswamy participated. Donald Trump (R) said he would not attend the debate, instead planning to hold a campaign rally at Drake Enterprises, an automotive part manufacturer in Michigan.[11]
2016 presidential election
On October 27, 2015, FBN announced that they and The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) would co-host the fourth Republican presidential primary debate in Milwaukee, Wis. Maria Bartiromo, along with Neil Cavuto of FBN and Gerard Baker of the WSJ, moderated the primetime debate. FBN's Trish Regan and Sandra Smith and WSJ Washington bureau chief Gerald Seib moderated the undercard debate.[12][13]
The network received criticism for its choice of polls used to determine which candidates would participate in the undercard debate and which would participate in the primetime debate. Politico noted that Gov. Chris Christie and Mike Huckabee had been "downgraded" to the undercard debate.[14] Senator Lindsey Graham and Gov. George Pataki were altogether excluded from the debates. The two polls that the candidates' camapaigns criticized were a NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll and an Investor's Business Daily/TIPP poll. The main contention was the methodology used in conducting the poll. FBN responded to the criticisms by stating that "it [FBN] accepted the four most recent live-interview polls, without discrimination."[14]
