Sandoval submitted the following statement to Ballotpedia:[4]

My focus is the basic needs of students both internally and externally. Our current school board holds a diversity of backgrounds including long time educators, parent liaisons, entrepreneurs, government employees skilled in fiscal matters, and individuals involved in youth sports leagues. I hope to bring a unique skill set that will build on what is already present while providing a fresh perspective broadening the board's ability to make the most well-rounded decisions to meet the needs of our students.[5]
