Francis R. Fecteau
Francis R. Fecteau was an associate justice on the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Massachusetts. He was appointed by Governor Deval Patrick and took office on January 16, 2008.[1] Fecteau retired on September 1, 2015.[2]
Education
Fecteau graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1969 with a B.A. in history. In 1972, he earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School.[1]
Career
Fecteau began his legal career as an attorney for the Worcester Tenants Association. He then became a staff attorney with the Neighborhood Legal Services of Worcester. He worked in the Worcester County District Attorney's office until 1979, when he left to work in private practice. In 1996, he was appointed to judge on the superior court, where he worked until his appointment to the court of appeals.[1]
