A veteran with 16 years of service, joyfully married for 19 years. We relocated from San Diego to Anaheim in 2016 to settle into our forever home for retirement.
  • Anaheim has seen a surge in homelessness due to the lack of income-based housing in our city. Our mayor and city council have consistently voted against enforcing tenant protections and requiring low-to-middle income housing in new developments. They are almost all "market rate" luxury homes.
  • The city of Anaheim belongs to its residents, not the hotel conglomerates, Disneyland, or real estate developers. We need a Council not funded by and beholden to these special interests.
  • The proposal is for an entertainment tax on Disneyland and its hotels, the civic center, and all major league sporting events.

This tax will fund scholarships for public schools, it will provide meals, school supplies, afterschool activities and income based babysitting services.

This tax will also fund community police to patrol the neighborhoods and parks. They must be trained in

de-escalating techniques, only use non-lethal methods and must live in the community they serve.
Housing, public transportation, homelessness, making our wealthy special interests pay their fair share.
Cesar Chavez, who taught me to fight for people who can't defend themselves or speak for themselves; he won the people's hearts by being humble and transparent.
Honesty, transparency, and knowing who you are representing. Also the ability to learn and try new approaches.
A strong sense of justice & a good detector of BS. I am stubborn but flexible.
To listen to their residents and voters, and try to do what is best for them.
Less homelessness in Anaheim, more pools and other necessary amenities, and an example of honest governance.
The Rodney King beating and riots. Also, Proposition 187. My father and I did the voiceover for one of Cesar Chavez' films fighting against that outrage.
US Naval Aircraft mechanic for 16 years.
The Horatio Hornblower series, which inspired me to join the Navy.
They can stand up to the special interests, which no Anaheim Council has done before, and be a shining example to the rest of the state and nation.
It can be for sure, but some of us are quick learners, and we are able to hire aides with more experience in government.
A strong sense of justice and a need for BS. Also, my experience in the military instilled in me a sense of efficiency and accountability.
As previously stated, what we do in Anaheim (such as true campaign finance reform) can be a shining example to the rest of the state.
Why did the turtle cross the road? (Pause) To get to the SHELL station! (drum fill)
All grass roots citizens and residents. Independent Democrats and non-Democrats as well. The Orange County LGBTQ+ group "Pride at the Pier."
