Frank A. Sedita, Jr.
Frank A. Sedita, Jr. was a justice of the Erie County Supreme Court in the 8th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to that court in 1994. He became a certificated justice in 2006 and retired on December 31, 2011.[1][2] He died on June 16, 2013 at the age of 78.[3]
Education
Sedita received his B.S. degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Canisius College in 1957. In 1960, he graduated with his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law.[1]
Career
Sedita began his career in 1961 as a private practice attorney. In 1967, he became Assistant Corporation Counsel for Buffalo, New York. He was promoted to Senior Deputy Corporation Counsel and Counsel to the Buffalo Board of Education in 1970. He served in this position until 1976, when he was elected an associate judge of the Buffalo City Court. He then served as an Erie County Family Court judge from 1980 until he was elected to the Supreme Court in 1994.[1]
