Aguilar's campaign website stated the following:
Investing in our District’s Infrastructure
Commissioner Aguilar has worked closely with 16th District municipalities and the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways and Bureau of Economic Development to repair streets, protect pedestrians, reduce traffic, and increase accessibility through the Invest in Cook and Community Development Block Grant programs.
Combatting Flooding
Working together with local, state, and federal leadership and agencies, Commissioner Aguilar helped coordinate the infusion of over $240 million of funding to Cook County and $96 million to local 16th District municipalities to prepare our communities for severe weather events and and get resources to homeowners and business owners who experienced damages from flooding.
Supporting our District’s Businesses
With strong relationships with local Chambers of Commerce and the small businesses that make our district run, Commissioner Aguilar has delivered support to local businesses through the Cook County Source Grant, Manufacturing Reinvented Grants, and more.
Public Safety
Commissioner Aguilar sponsored an initiative to provide the Cook County Sheriff’s Office with a helicopter. This has brought Cook County closer to peer counties in their equipment and has increased the ability of first responders to track carjackings, and coordinate fire and paramedic actions to ensure people are getting help as quickly and safely as possible.
