Domestic and Foreign Affairs.

My immigrant parents. With only a 4th-grade education but a "master's" in "street smarts" they raised a family, put my sisters and me through college, and purchased a home.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

Clear and Present Danger - "Mr. President, I don't dance."

"To whom much is given, much is expected."

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Tenacity, audacity, honesty and ethics.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I have nearly 25 years of professional government service at all levels.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Placing the public good above all.

What legacy would you like to leave?

Making an impact on people's daily lives. Making it better.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

Without any question, September 11, 2001. I was 36 years old.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Working as a pharmacy tech. This was back in high school.

What is your favorite book? Why?

I'm a bibliophile - a lover of books. Like a parent, I loved them all. Something to be learned from all of them.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Bond, James Bond.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

"Honesty," Billy Joel.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Always being underestimated - but always prevailing in the end.

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

The power of the purse.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

Of course.

What do you perceive to be the United States’ greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

The US is facing three existential risks:

1. Nuclear War
2. Climate Change

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

No - it should be changed to four years so that governing and not elections are the priority.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

Let me get elected.

In general, I'm not opposed to it.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

TBD.

The death of a 12-year-old student due to the gross negligence of our current congressman in failing to address risks at Reagan National Airport.

A priest, a rabbi, and an imam ... I love to hear jokes but can't tell one to save my life!

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

Certainly.

The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?

Congress must reassert this constitutional power that has been abdicated by the current Congress where my opponent serves.

How should the U.S. House use its investigative powers?

Oversight must be a priority, especially given the current state of affairs. American has no kings.

What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign?

"Built it and they will come."
