Throughout my successful career I have manged to solve thousands of difficult problems working for the Defense Department and as and entrepreneur. Through my education and experience I am able to understand and solve highly complex and difficult problems. The aspect of programs worked included technical, production, budgeting and finance, and contracting. Additionally, through my leadership skills II have managed and motivated many employees in a large organization to achieve successful mission outcomes in many different programs. I am a hard working success driven manager that wants to apply my knowledge skills and abilities for the benefit of the citizens of Henderson, NV.
  • Vote for me if you want change. Change is needed many areas but most importantly education and healthcare.
  • Our current political leaders will not change anything. They are interested in maintaining the status quo and only represent their own interests.
  • I am not a career politician and do not intent to become one. I work only for the voters to improve the quality of life in our city.
Besides my father who is my role model, I admire the type of person Eisenhower was. He was a fully transparent straight shooter.
High ethics/honesty, transparent, visionary, strong leadership abilities, effective communicator
Honesty, strong leadership skills, knowledge and experience solving complex problems, knowledge in supervising and motivating others, ability to apply critical thinking to any issue and conduct due diligence. Knowledge of planning and execution of all types of programs.
I would like to bring Henderson public schools from near last in the country to number 1. I would like to bring Henderson health care to being recognized as top in the country. I would like to leave the city's economy as diversified in a way that makes it resilient to economic downturns while providing good paying jobs for prosperity to all.
When I was a senior in high school I started three jobs simultaneously; a MacDonald's cashier, valet parking attendant and caddie. I also had a small business of clamming in the inland waterway and selling them to local restuarants.
The Good Earth by Pearl Buck. It reminds me of a hardworking farmer of simple means. The farmer worked from sun up to sundown and never complained. It reminds me how grateful we should be what we have.
I was a single parent for over six years after my first wife passed unexpectedly. At the time my oldest son was 4. Between caring for him, working my job which required one week a month of travel and running a household it was a struggle. He now lives in Scottsdale, AZ and is a manager with Honeywell.
Being a leader as Mayor in Henderson means having a vision, creating a sense of urgency and overcommunicating to lead and manage the achievement of that vision.
The Mayor of Henderson's number one responsibility is to maintain public safety. Other important responsibilities are improve education and health care. Additionally, the mayor should oversee economic growth in a way that maintains quality of life in our city.
The thing I love most about Henderson is the people. They are caring, loving people with a strong sense of community, and respect for others.
The greatest challenge is going to be removing existing political leaders with outdated modes of thinking that resist change. Once this is achieved the city can move forward by improving its public education and healthcare.
As we improve the quality of life in Henderson through improved education, healthcare and carefully managed growth providing good paying jobs I would expect the state government to take notice. The state government should look at the successes we will make in Henderson and make it a model when dealing with similar issues in other Nevada cities. So the relationship between Henderson and the state government should be one of mutual respect and recognition of Henderson's achievements when taking into account future issues. There should be constant communication with the Governor's office in this regard.
The federal government provides critical resources to the city and state. However, these resources come with strings. The relationship with the federal government should be guarded. All resources offered should be carefully weighed against the possibility of dependency and control. Their should be constant communication with our congressional reps in this regard.
The relationship between the mayor's office and the police should be in harmony. Although policing is the responsibility of law enforcement the mayor's office should dictate to the police how the policing is to be accomplished not the other way around. Ultimately this means the people decide how they want to be policed. For example: from the recent school shooting in Texas that left 19 dead we learned that there were several police on scene that waited for back up before attempting to neutralize the threat. Our policy will be the first police to arrive at the scene shall go directly to the threat until it is neutralized.
