Frank Gray, Jr. (February 25, 1908-September 6, 1978) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

John F. Kennedy conferred a recess appointment on Gray on November 20, 1961, to fill the new seat created by 75 Stat. 80. Judge Gray was then nominated on January 15, 1962, confirmed by the U.S. Senate on February 7, 1962, receiving commission on February 17, 1962.

Gray served as the court's chief judge from 1970-1977. he assumed senior status on July 15, 1977, with his service on the court terminating on September 6, 1978 with his death.[1] Gray was succeeded in this position by Thomas Wiseman.
