Frank Y. Jackson was an associate justice on the Second District, Division Seven of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed to this position on May 16, 2008, by Governor Schwarzenegger and took office the June 4.[1][2] He was retained in 2010 with 69.5 percent of the vote. Jackson retired from the court in 2013.[3]

Education

Jackson graduated from the University of Nevada in 1970 with a major in political science and a minor in economics. He received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1973. He is married with three children.[1]

Career

Jackson began as an attorney for the law firm Cosgrove, Michelizzi, Schwabacher, Ward and Jackson in 1973. He specialized in family law and worked here until 1990. He also taught at Antelope Valley College, Golden Gate University, and La Verne University from 1974 to 2008. He served for three terms as a justice pro tem in the court of appeal in divisions one and five. From 1990 to 1993, he was on the Antelope Municipal Court. He was then appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, where he served until his appointment to the court of appeals in 2008.[1][2]

Jackson was retained to the court of appeals in 2010 with 69.7 percent of the vote.[4]
