Frank Ospino was a judge on the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown (D) on November 17, 2015, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Luis A. Rodriguez.[1]

Education

Ospino received a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Irvine and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.[1]

Career

Ospino was the Orange County Public Defender from 2012 until his judicial appointment in 2015. He was a deputy public defender in the Orange County Public Defender's Office from 1985 to 1990. After working in private practice from 1990 to 1992, he rejoined the Orange County Public Defender's Office in 1992. Over the years he held the following positions: interim public defender, senior assistant public defender, assistant public defender and senior deputy public defender in the Alternate Defender’s Office.[1]
