I have lived in Yerington for 35 years and this is home to me. I love our community and would love to help our town prosper and become even more successful than it is. I started my career in the Bay Area in California and continued it here in Nevada. I am retired and have the time to donate to this position. I was first appointed to the Council in 2021 and then elected in 2022. Until then I had no idea how much time this takes. I like to be busy and I am. Also, I donate my time to 3 food organizations for the seniors. For this I was awarded volunteer of the year from the Boy's and Girls club in 2022, a honor I am very proud of. I also donate my time to the Boys and Girls Club here in Yerington.
  • On the City Council we are appointed to committees. I am on the Safety committee and our latest contribution was for School safety. We were able to get new stop signs and a new Kiss and Drop area were the parents can drop the children off and they go right into the school. The cross walks were also redone. We are working on lighting up the cross walks and the 3 foot signs so it is much more visible.
  • As many of you know, our main water well had major problems and needed to be closed. We are working diligently to sink a new well. We are working with an engineer to test a new well and assure the water and we'll are not contaminated.
  • I have met with a promotional company for the city of Yerington for promoting business and events to help our city flourish. This company has worked with Virginia City, Geona, Reno, Night in the County,
There was a major incident that was discovered this summer. We have to be sure that all business are properly permitted and in compliance on a regular basis. This has to be maintained by the proper authority and no room for error.

We have to have quality control, no matter what kind of business is being run.
The incident being referred to was being signed off on a sprinkler system that was not working and had not worked for over a year.

This could have taken many lives. We can not tolerate incompetence.
Honestly and integrity should be the backbone of any elected official.
I believe my responsibility is the welfare and the security of the people of Yerington that I represent. As a elected member of the City Council the most important job I have is the decisions I make for the community. I have to take the time to research each decision to insure that it is in the best interest for our city.
Being retired affords me the time to look into the issues the City Council will be making decisions on.
The assignation of President John F. Kennedy. I was 19 years old and driving to work. The radio was on and the host announced the President was shot in his motorcade in Dallas Texas. He was taken to the nearest hospital and shortly after was pronounced dead. I felt a sense of disbelief that something so horrific could happen in our great nation.
I am honored to be endorsed by the Mayor of Yerington.
