Campaign themes
2015
Stabile's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
Local business
- Excerpt: "Great neighborhoods need vibrant businesses. I will support current local businesses as well as bring new businesses to the district that can be a partner in the community. New businesses help create walkable commercial corridors as neighbors have more options within walking distance."
Growth and zoning
- Excerpt: "Since 2010, I have been advocating for smart growth and responsible development in The Nations Neighborhood and across Nashville. My experience in property renovations provides me with a strong understanding of zoning and planning issues."
Education
- Excerpt: "The issue of school choice is also very important. Parents need to ensure their children receive a quality education. I want it to be an easy decision to send your child to a zoned school. But ultimately we need to determine what are the successful practices in all schools, charter or public, and implement them."
- Excerpt: "We need legislation to revise the formula currently used to allocate funding. Tennessee’s Basic Education Program, the state’s funding formula for K-12 public education, has not been updated in 8 years and it has never been funded to recommended levels."
Greenspace
- Excerpt: "I support continuing to expand our greenways. I will demand green space in all new development projects."
Transportation
- Excerpt: "For Nashville to become more pedestrian and cyclist friendly there are two big initiatives that need to come together; getting cars off the roadways by offering more access to other forms of transportation and how to fund the projects that do just that."
- Excerpt: "Bringing together private and public funding interests me as a way to fill gaps and achieve a more walkable Nashville."
