On November 4, 2008, Gould won election by finishing fourth for the four-seat Grafton District 11 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, receiving 3,926 votes behind Democrats Laurie Harding (4,246), Susan Almy (4,213), and Gene Andersen (3,993) and ahead of Republican Charles Marshall (2,107) and "Others" (32).[1]
