Franklin Parish Sales Taxes Measures, 2 (November 2009)

There were two Franklin Parish Sales Taxes Measures on the November 14 ballot in Franklin Parish.

The first proposed an amendment to a current sales tax by the Police Jury, a one-half percent sales tax on trash and garbage disposal. Instead now it will get the normal 4 percent administrative fee. The measure passed with 551 in favor of it.

The second proposition was a renewal for a half cent sales tax that goes towards maintenance and operation expenses from the parish schools. The tax will be renewed in another 10 years, it passed with 530 in favor.
