Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 43.72 percent of the vote. He competed against Lynn Rosenthal. [1][2]

McLawrence ran for election to the Broward County Court, but was defeated by Mardi Levey Cohen in the general election after receiving 47.9 percent of the vote.[4]

McLawrence served in the U.S Navy from 1990 to 1994.[5]

McLawrence received his undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Florida.[5]

Career

McLawrence worked for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office before starting his own general practice, The McLawrence Law Firm, in 2006. He has also volunteered as a Broward Teen Court Judge.[5][6]
