An election to recall Public Utility Commissoners Fred Buchtel and Fred Williams was held in May 1922. Voters recalled Buchtel and Williams.[1]
Recall vote
Newton McCoy was elected to replace Buchtel. Thomas Kerrigan was elected to replace Williams.[1][2]
Recall supporters
The members of the recall committee were Robert Duncan, Ellis Richardson, and F. S. Meyers. The recall effort was initiated after Buchtel and Williams voted for telephone rate increases.[3][4]
Path to the ballot
The recall committee submitted sufficient signatures to trigger a recall election on April 25, 1922.[4]
