Fred Crifasi
Fred Crifasi (Republican Party) is a judge for Section 3, Division H of the Louisiana 19th Judicial District Court. He assumed office in 2018. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Crifasi (Republican Party) won re-election for the Section 3, Division H judge of the Louisiana 19th Judicial District Court outright in the primary on November 3, 2020, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Education
Crifasi obtained a B.S. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1986. He obtained a J.D. from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1992.[1]

There are 217 judges on the Louisiana District Courts, each elected to six-year terms. They must face re-election if they wish to serve again.[2]
The district courts select chief judges by peer vote (with term lengths that vary by individual court).[2]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:[2][3]
- licensed to practice law in the state for at least eight years;
- a resident of the district represented for at least one year; and
- under the age of 70 at the time of election (judges who turn 70 in office may serve until their term expires)
