Fred Dickinson Letts
Fred Dickinson Letts (1875-1965) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
He received a recess appointment from President Herbert Hoover on May 5, 1931 to replace Wendell Phillips Stafford. On December 15th of that year, he was nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 17, 1932, and received commission on February 20th. From 1958 to 1959, he was the chief judge. On May 31, 1961, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on January 19, 1965.[1]
