Fred Jarrett
Fred Jarrett is a former Washington state senator. He served in the Washington State Senate's 41st District after his election in 2008 until he resigned in December 2009 to become King County's deputy executive.[1]
Jarrett earned his B.A. in Finance from Washington State University. He then received his MBA in Finance from Seattle University.
Professional experience
Jarrett worked in finance for Manufacturing and Computing Systems Management for Boeing. He went on to become an officer in the United States Air Force. He has also been a project manager in the Commercial Airplanes Division for Boeing.
Political experience
Jarrett served as mayor for the City of Mercer Island from 1983 to 1987. He was a member of the Mercer Island City Council from 1979 to 1995. He then served as director of Mercer Island School Board from 1999 to 2000. He has served in the Washington State House of Representatives since 2001. In 2007, Jarrett switched from the Republican to the Democratic Party. Jarrett joined the senate in 2008 and then resigned in 2009 to go to work for King County.
