I am a lifelong resident of Brazos County. I am married, with two adult daughters and I am a very proud grandfather. I am a Graduate of Bryan High School, Texas A&M University, and Texas Southern University School of Law.

I am a Veteran of the Armed Services and a former Union member representing the the Teamsters at United Parcel Service.

I'm honored to be your Democratic Candidate for Texas House 14. As a staunch advocate for public schools, I'm committed to ensuring every child receives a quality education. My stance on pro-choice reflects my belief in women's rights and autonomy. Additionally, I proudly stand with the labor force, championing fair wages and worker rights. Let's build a future where everyone thrives. Join me on this journey for progress and positive change! #TexasHouse14 #ProgressForAll
  • Public Education: I am committed to championing a robust public education system and I will oppose any legislation that diverts taxpayer money to private schools. We must find alternative forms of funding to finance our public schools. 6 in 10 children in Texas are considered economically disadvantaged; we have 1 counselor for every ~1400 children, 19 billion dollars in stimulus money will be gone, Texas ranks 42nd of the 50 states in spending per child $4000 below the national average. Creating voucher system to funnel money away from our public schools is not the answer.
  • Reproductive Rights: I staunchly advocate for accessible and affordable reproductive healthcare and will work to repeal all current legislation that removes a women's autonomy over her body. This includes the malignant legislation creating a bounty on anyone that assists a women in getting an out of state abortion. The current regime in Austin has no problem telling a rape victim, child rape victim, or a family facing a serious medical emergency that they have no rights.
  • Wages: My pro-labor platform prioritizes fair wages, workplace safety, and collective bargaining. Legislation should focus on the dignity of work. The average Texan makes ~$46,000 a year and with the rising costs due to inflation, day care and medical expenses, this is unacceptable. We need to ensure that our retired state employees receive a cost of living increase and that public employees, such as our teachers and first responders have the right to collective bargaining.
Child advocacy and Mental Health, especially as it relates to our veterans.

Our foster care system is broken. Our front line Child Protective Service workers are understaffed and underpaid. For too long our leadership has ignored these problems. Their answer has been to push through the privatization of this agency which has failed miserably.

And there has been only lip service in dealing with our state's mental health crisis.
I was raised by a single mom, and later a step father that stepped up. My mom and dad were my inspiration.
I believe that the hallmark of effective leadership lies in a steadfast commitment to integrity, empathy, and the well-being of all constituents. The most important characteristics for an elected official include transparency, accessibility, and a genuine willingness to listen. As your representative, I will strive to maintain open lines of communication, ensuring that your concerns are heard and addressed. Integrity will guide my decisions, and I am dedicated to promoting policies that foster inclusivity, justice, and prosperity for all.
I will not be swayed in my determination to pass legislation that benefits all Texans, and will be vigilant to call out those that continue the path of keeping their lobbyist happy.
Active engage in the legislative process, prioritize regular communication with constituents, hosting town halls, and actively seeking feedback to ensure that their concerns are heard and addressed, building strong ties with community organizations, local businesses.
I was in the military when the political winds shifted culminating in the Berlin Wall coming down.
In High school, I was a construction worker in the summers in the brutal Houston Texas heat!!!
Led Zeppelin is always playing in my head.
We must plan for the growth of our state. We can no push back dealing with our infrastructure, public schools, mental health; and wasting precious time and resources on culture wars and malignant legislation that targets women, children and the LGBTQ+ community.
I'm a former Teamster....so no.
Codify a Women's right to reproductive health.
The Greater Gulf Coast AFL-CIO
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters
Public Health and Redistricting.

Too many Texans are falling through the cracks when it comes to accessing medical care. That includes mental health services. We need a comprehensive plan for rural Texans who have been ignored by this state's leadership.

As a person who is running in a gerrymandered district, I am deeply committed to fair elections with fair boundaries.
These are very important no doubt. But the main issue is what are we advocating as a priority for money to be spent and is it something that will benefit a few at the expense of everyone else.
