Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Federal wire fraud and obstruction of justice charges (2023)
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Plump pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of obstruction of justice. As part of a plea deal, Plump agreed to resign from the Alabama House of Representatives.[4]
Plump is accused of conspiring with an unnamed legislator to launder money from the Jefferson County Community Service Fund through the Piper Davis Youth Baseball League, a nonprofit youth sports organization Plump directed. Plump and the legislator allocated money from the fund to the sports league, and then distributed the funds among himself, the legislator, and his mistress, who was an assistant to the legislator.[5]
After being subpoenaed and interviewed by investigators, Plump alerted the legislator to the investigation.[5]
