Biography

Rovner's professional experience includes working as a nurse practitioner, educator, and soldier. He earned a bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University in 1974, master's degree from Monash University in 1981, and master's degree from Georgia State University in 1997. Rovner served in the U.S. Army and California National Guard from 1966 to 1974.[1][2]

Fred Rovner lives in Senoia, Georgia. He and his wife Thyra, have a daughter and son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Fred is a former Infantry officer in the United States Army and veteran of the Vietnam War. He also served in the California National Guard. He has a postgraduate degree in Education and a master of Science in Family Practice (Nurse Practitioner). He has practiced both Family and Emergency Medicine since 1997. Fred has also volunteered with the Medical reserve Corps of Georgia, been a mentor with the Veteran's Treatment Court and served as adjunct faculty for several Universities where he has helped to prepare Medical and Nursing students for practice. Currently Fred is involved with responding to the COVID19 crisis. He has been awarded several academic and civil awards; his military honors include three Bronze Stars, an Air medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

  • Insuring the right to vote for all Georgians and elimination barriers to voting.
  • Equal access to quality education for Georgians.
