This measure sought to add to the current levy which by a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of three years in order to further pay for parks and recreational purposes in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
An additional tax for the benefit of Freedom Township for the purpose of parks and recreational purposes, including park development and improvement at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 5 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 3 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013[3] |
