Fritz Hager Jr. is the District 6 representative on the Tyler Independent School District Board of Trustees in Texas. Hager won another term in the general election on May 7, 2016.

Hager expressed his belief that the district had complied with a federal desegregation order that was placed on the district in 1970.

Hager is the executive pastor at Bethel Baptist Church. He previously worked as a business consultant. He is a United States Army veteran. He received a Silver Star for valorous action after his service in Operation Desert Storm. Hager obtained a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He went on to earn a master's degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Tyler Independent School District school board were up for general election on May 7, 2016. Incumbents Wade Washmon and Jean Washington ran unopposed and won re-elction to the seats in Districts 1 and 3, respectively. Their elections were canceled due to a lack of oppoistion. District 6 incumbent Fritz Hager Jr. defeated challenger Marc Loredo for the seat.[2][3]
