Campaign themes
2014
Seide's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
“ | Legalization of Marijuana
The legalization of marijuana in the State of Florida is going to be one of the hottest topics of the political debates. As a conservative Republican candidate, I do not believe that 60% of Floridians will vote in favor of such a controversial measure. Marijuana has caused so many of our youngsters to lose their minds and end up being admitted into drug rehab facilities or in prison. Will such legislation have control over the growth and consumption of the plants? I highly doubt that legislation will cause the plant to be used for medicinal purposes, as the legislation contends. The Right To Bear Arms The Trayvon Martin case has triggered numerous discussions not only in the state of Florida, but also in many other states where liberals have raised their voices to prohibit the rights our fore fathers have given us through the law of the land: our Constitution. Education The state of Florida needs to be competitive, and in order to elevate our state to the national and international standards, we must allocate a substantial share of the Florida budget into our school system. Students who attend certain failing schools should have an equal opportunity to obtain a school voucher allowing them to access a charter school of their choice. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are the best recipes to shape the young men and women of Florida into well-rounded and productive citizens for the future of Florida. Economic Growth As an accountant EA and a licensed real estate broker, it is needless to tell you how business oriented I am. The state of Florida has made great progress with the endeavors of Governor Rick Scott - while nationwide America is still struggling to create jobs. In district 12, I have picked the Pine Hills and Washington Shore areas to start a pilot project, which I believe will drive supporters of my campaign to participate and contribute to such an interesting project. School drop-outs, early pregnancy, and drug dealing represent the basis for the level of poverty and crimes in Pine Hills. The citizens of Pine Hills deserve a second chance to change their living conditions through training and learning skills that can transform them into more productive citizens. As a result they will be capable of generating the income level and quality of life the citizens of Pine Hills are seeking and making Pine Hills competitive with other cities in district 12. Citizens of Pine Hills must be trained, and they must acquire the necessary skills that will help them create wealth inicidental to the increase of the value of their real properties for a higher assessment - improving the collection of property taxes. To accomplish this vision I have formed a nonprofit organization named D.R.E.A.M.12 (Devotional Resolution Empowering A Minority).[1][2] |
