Fualaau Tago Lancaster (independent) (also known as Rosie) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent American Samoa's At-Large Congressional District. She lost in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Fualaau Tago Lancaster graduated from Samoana High School. She served in the U.S. Army. Tago Lancaster earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Golden Gate University and a B.B.A. from Hawaii Pacific University. Her career experience includes working as an educator at American Samoa Community College and a local Veterans Affairs representative and coordinator.[1]

Tago Lancaster’s campaign website stated the following:

EDUCATION

  • Develop a High School track of study to foster interest in professionals needed in the territory; offer college scholarship to receive a degree in the targeted professions, said scholarship to be repaid in professional service to American Samoa.
  • Promote innovative programs that will deliver an education for the 21st century, especially in science, math, engineering, art, and technology.
  • Increased and diversified job training programs
  • Introduce computer curricula into all elementary schools no later than Grade 4

HEALTH INITIATIVES

  • Establish, as a high priority mission of the delegate, to be a leader in partnership, locally and in D.C., in raising awareness of the territory's health crisis.
  • Address the need for significant, consistent medical outreach into the villages, by developing partnerships with U.S. Schools of Medicine, to place American Samoa on their general medicine internship and residency case work requirements.
  • Work in partnership with local leaders to develop and implement a Territorial Health Policy that is eligible for support from Federal health initiatives.
  • Seek and secure capacity building initiatives for our healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure all new Federal Health Initiatives include American Samoa.

ECONOMIC GROWTH

  • Ensure American Samoa is included in all Federal stimulus initiatives for economic growth.
  • Secure Federal economic development initiatives that support the Territory's plan for economic growth.

VETERANS AFFAIRS

  • Partner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs & U.S. Department of Interior to build us a New Hospital, with a hospital wing dedicated to American Samoa Military Retirees and Veterans.
  • Ensure full access to all VA benefits due for your service.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Federally support Territorial leadership initiatives.
  • Federally fund leadership camp opportunities.
  • Promote extracurricular activities that foster personal responsibility and accountability.[2]
