Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Galloway's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Uphold the Constitution: As the people’s elected representatives, Congress must stand up to an overreaching executive branch, and we must fight back against the continued assaults on our First and Second Amendment freedoms. The federal government must also respect the Tenth Amendment by returning power to the states.
  • Limit Government: As government grows larger, our freedoms become smaller. The federal government is massive and growing, and it must be reined in. Needless and excessive regulations enacted by unelected bureaucrats cripple rather than support our free enterprise system. We must eliminate or completely overhaul federal agencies like the EPA, the IRS, and the Energy and Education Departments, not just make token cuts. One of the most outrageous expansions of federal power has been Obamacare, and it must be repealed and replaced.
  • Strengthen National Security: The federal government’s most important responsibility is to keep us safe, and, without apology, America must lead the world. Our policies must make our allies trust us and our enemies fear us. We should not be afraid to call terrorism what it is. When we are strong, the world is a safer place, and we are more prosperous at home.
  • Simplify the Tax Code: Tax rates must be simplified for the average American. We should give a flat tax, or fair tax, a serious look. Corporate tax rates must be reduced to bring jobs back to the United States.
  • Enforce Immigration Laws: Our porous border must be secured before we have any discussion of immigration reform. People who break the law should not be rewarded for it. There should be no sanctuary cities. All levels of government must be held accountable to work together to enforce our existing immigration laws.
