G. Lawrence DeMarco was a 2015 candidate for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He won the Democratic primary but was defeated in the general election.[1]. In 2012, he ran for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and in 2011 for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.
Education
DeMarco received his undergraduate degree from Dickinson College in 1990 and his J.D. from the Villanova School of Law in 1993. He also earned an LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University in 2003.[2]
Career
DeMarco joined the law firm DeMarco & DeMarco, P.C. after graduating from law school in 1993. He is a partner of the firm and focuses on workers' compensation and personal injury law. He also serves as a court of common pleas judge pro tem.[2]

2012
DeMarco ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 161. DeMarco ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on April 24 and was defeated by incumbent Joe Hackett (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3]
2011

DeMarco ran for the common pleas court in 2011. He won the Democratic primary on May 17 with 13.6 percent of the vote.[4] He was defeated in the general election on November 8, receiving only 8.3 percent of the vote.[5]
Campaign themes
2012
During his 2012 campaign, DeMarco said that he would fight against the privatization of education and further budget cuts. He sought to increase taxes on natural gas producers to replenish budget shortfalls, as well as increased infrastructure spending.[6]
