Gabriel Gomez (Massachusetts)
Gabriel Gomez was a 2013 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. He won the nomination in the Republican primary on April 30, 2013.[1] He was defeated by Ed Markey (D) in the general election.[2]
Reports circulated in September 2013 that Gomez was mulling a rematch against Ed Markey (D) in 2014.[3]
Biography
Gomez is the son of Colombian immigrants and learned English in kindergarten. He earned an MBA from Harvard University.[4][5]
Career
Gomez was a Navy pilot and SEAL before launching a private equity career.[4][5]

Reports circulated in September 2013 that Gomez was mulling a rematch against Ed Markey (D) in 2014.[6]
2013
Gomez was seeking election to the United States Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, after his confirmation by the U.S. Senate to Secretary of State. The Republican primary was April 30, 2013. He won the nomination in the Republican primary after defeating Michael Sullivan and Daniel Winslow.[7] The general election took place on June 25, 2013.[8] He was defeated by Ed Markey (D) in the general election.[2]
