Gabriel Kissinger grew up in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, as a twin and one of five children. His father operated a catering and accounting business, while his mother worked with the mentally handicapped and sold antiques. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 2013 and went on to attend film school at Douglas Education Center in Monessen, Pennsylvania, earning an A.S.B. in Filmmaking in 2015. After spending a year in Los Angeles, he relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2016. Kissinger now works as a studio photographer specializing in pet portraits.
  • Public Safety: District 6 has the highest crime count in Dallas, with theft and drug offenses surpassing city averages. Motor vehicle theft, the fentanyl-driven drug crisis, and homelessness, bringing waste and encampments, are major concerns. I will support our police and first responders with the resources they need to combat these issues, and will fight to fully fund the police and fire pension.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Dallas is facing a $6.9 billion deficit, which is a liability for future taxpayers. I will fight to cut the wasteful spending of hard earned taxpayer dollars, redirect funds from non-essential programs, and prioritize critical services like public safety and infrastructure to restore fiscal stability—focusing on common-sense, essential issues.
  • Infrastructure: I am committed to improving District 6 by enhancing street cleaning, repairing potholes, and revitalizing aging buildings to save money. Together with private sector partnerships, we can create a thriving community for families and businesses, contributing to a better quality of life and economic growth.
Public Safety, Fiscal Responsibility, and Infrastructure.
I deeply admire the Founding Fathers, who championed limited government, individual freedom, and placed their trust in God.
I believe my strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to accountability would make me a successful officeholder. I am not a career politician—I am someone who understands the value of responsibility, problem-solving, and making informed decisions that prioritize the needs of the community.

I also bring a fiscally responsible mindset, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and efficiently. I believe in transparency, making sure that the community knows how decisions are made and that their voices are heard. Above all, I am driven by a sense of service, not special interests. My leadership is guided by principle, not political games, and I am committed to working for the people, ensuring their needs—not bureaucracy—come first.
Ensuring Public Safety – Making sure our streets are safe by supporting law enforcement and policies that reduce crime.

Fiscal Stewardship – Managing the city’s budget responsibly, cutting waste, and ensuring taxpayers get value for their money.

Infrastructure Oversight – Maintaining and improving roads, drainage, and public services to keep the district running efficiently.

Lowering Property Tax Rates – Fighting to reduce the property tax burden on homeowners and businesses while keeping city services efficient.

Constituent Advocacy – Listening to residents, addressing their concerns, and being a voice for the community.

Regulatory Oversight – Ensuring that local government does not overburden businesses and homeowners with unnecessary regulations.

Accountability & Transparency – Keeping the government honest, making decisions in the open, and answering to the people.
I want to leave a legacy of accountability, fiscal responsibility, and a safer, more prosperous Dallas. I want to be known as someone who stood firm on principles, made decisions based on what was right rather than what was politically convenient, and ensured that taxpayer money was spent wisely. If I can make District 6 a safer place to live, fix our roads and infrastructure, lower the burden on hardworking families by reducing property tax rates, and restore trust in local government through transparency and integrity, then I will have accomplished what I set out to do. My goal is to leave behind a city that is stronger, safer, and better positioned for the future.
The first historical event I clearly remember in my lifetime was 9/11. I was 6 years old at the time.
My first job was cleaning up after the weekly meetings at the Ponchatoula Rotary Club. This included mopping floors, washing dishes, and cleaning bathrooms.

One of the challenges I’ve faced is breaking into new industries and proving myself without relying on others to get me there. Whether it was building a career in film and photography or stepping into politics, I’ve had to carve my own path through hard work and perseverance. These experiences have reinforced my belief in personal responsibility, determination, and never expecting handouts—values that continue to guide me in everything I do.
Public Safety Funding: The council determines the budget for police, fire, and emergency services.

Infrastructure Investments: Council members decide how funds are spent on roads, bridges, and public utilities.

Taxpayer Money Accountability: The council oversees city budgets to determine how taxpayer dollars are spent.

Property Tax Rates: The council sets property tax rates, directly influencing how much residents and businesses pay each year.
I believe that experience in government or politics can offer valuable insight into the workings of the system, but it is not essential for someone to hold this office. What truly matters is having a deep understanding of the political process, a commitment to serving the community, and a drive to work for the people, not special interests.

Having knowledge of how the system operates is important—understanding the inner workings of government, how policies are shaped, and how public resources are managed. However, I believe a fresh perspective, free from the corruption and compromises often associated with long-term political insiders, is equally valuable. A candidate with a clean record, who isn’t “bought” by political elites or influenced by special interests, can bring new energy and accountability to the role. My focus is on making decisions based on what’s best for the community, not on political favors or backroom deals.

Ultimately, what matters most is the ability to work with others, a genuine passion for improving the city, and the dedication to representing the people of Dallas without any ulterior motives.
Fiscal Responsibility: Understanding budgeting, financial management, and how to allocate taxpayer money wisely is essential. The ability to prioritize funding for critical services like public safety and infrastructure, while keeping property tax rates low and manageable, is key to effective governance.

Problem Solving and Critical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex issues, make informed decisions, and find practical solutions to problems facing the community—whether it's crime, infrastructure, or economic development—is crucial.

Communication and Transparency: Clear and transparent communication is vital in keeping constituents informed, engaging in open dialogue, and ensuring that the public knows how decisions are being made. Listening to the concerns of residents and providing straightforward answers builds trust and accountability.

Collaboration and Negotiation: The ability to work with other council members, city officials, and community leaders is crucial in passing effective policies. Negotiation skills help find common ground and ensure that the interests of District 6 are represented.

Knowledge of Local Governance: Understanding the structure of local government, the role of the city council, and how decisions are made is essential for navigating the political process and effectively representing constituents.

Leadership and Integrity: Strong leadership to guide initiatives, stand firm on principles, and make decisions that put the interests of the people first is essential. Integrity is key to avoiding corruption and ensuring public trust.
Local Impact: As a city council member, you have the ability to directly influence the daily lives of residents. Unlike state or federal legislators who deal with broader, more abstract policies, a city council member addresses local concerns such as public safety, zoning, infrastructure, and quality of life. Your decisions impact how the city operates, from local ordinances to budgeting decisions.

Legislative Authority: City council members have the authority to pass laws and ordinances that govern the city, covering everything from property taxes to business regulations. They can introduce policies that directly shape the economic, social, and physical environment of the community, which makes their role especially important at the local level.
I am endorsed by GoodParty.org and the Log Cabin Republicans of Dallas.
Financial Transparency: Governments must provide clear, accessible information about how taxpayer dollars are being spent. This includes budgeting, spending reports, and audits that the public can easily access and understand. It ensures that funds are being allocated efficiently and not wasted on unnecessary programs or bureaucracy. Citizens should be able to see where their tax dollars go, so they can hold officials accountable.

Government Accountability: Elected officials should be held to the highest standards of accountability, meaning they must answer for their decisions and actions. This can be achieved through regular oversight, audits, and an open dialogue with constituents. If public officials are not delivering on their promises, they should face consequences, whether through elections or other mechanisms. A transparent system allows voters to make informed decisions and reduces corruption and inefficiency.
