Gail Cook is the District 2 representative on the Nassau County School District school board in Florida. Cook's seat was originally set to be on the ballot in the primary election on August 30, 2016, but when the filing deadline passed and no challenger filed, she was automatically elected to an additional term.

One of the five seats on the Nassau County School District school board was up for by-district primary election on August 30, 2016. In District 5, newcomers Tyrone Blue and Jonathan Petree vied for the seat, with Petree emerging as the winner. The seats of District 2 and District 4 incumbents Gail Cook and Kimberly Fahlgren were originally set to be on the primary ballot, but they were unopposed in their bids for re-election. The election for both their seats was canceled and they were automatically re-elected when the filing deadline passed.[1]
