Gail Finney
Gail Finney (Democratic Party) was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 84. She assumed office in 2009. She left office on August 20, 2022.
Finney (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 84. She did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Finney died on August 20, 2022.[1]
Biography
Finney earned her B.S. in business administration from Wichita State University and her M.B.A. from Friends University. She was a small business owner.[2]

On her website, Finney lists her legislative priorities as:[3]
- Ensuring a quality education for all Kansas children,
- Bringing the cost of health care and prescription drugs down,
- Working with all levels of government and the private sector to grow our economy and expand our job base.
She refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[4]

Finney won re-election to the 84th District seat against Dan Heflin (R). In the August 3rd primary election, Finney defeated Democratic primary opponent Inga Taylor by a margin of 667 to 92. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[13]
