The question on the ballot:
Shall Galien Township impose an increase of up to 1.00 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution, and levy it for 5 years, being the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, for general township operating purposes, which 1 mill increase will raise an estimated $42,643.00 in the first year the millage is levied.[3] |
