Bingham is the owner of Gary Bingham and Associates, an independent insurance agency based in Mesquite, Texas.[2]

Three of the seven seats on the Mesquite Independent School District board of trustees were supposed to be up for general election on May 6, 2017, but the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbents Gary Bingham, Greg Everett, and Robert Seward were re-elected by default to the Place 3, 4, and 5 seats, respectively.[1][3]
