The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Chris Sainato was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Gary Cangey defeated Gregory Michalek in the Republican primary. Sainato defeated Cangey in the general election.[3][4][5]
