Carter (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Louisiana State Senate to represent District 7 outright in the primary on October 14, 2023, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Biography

Gary Carter Jr. graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School in 1992. Carter earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Xavier University in 1996 and a law degree from Tulane Law School in 2002.[1][2] His career experience includes working as a civil trial attorney, senior counsel with a private company, and a partner with Kelly Hart & Pitre.[2]
