Gary Latanich was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Arkansas.

Latanich served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 19700. He then earned his B.B.A. in economics from Ohio University in 1973. He went on to receive his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1978. Latanich has been a professor of economics at Arkansas State University.

Latanich ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Arkansas's 1st District. He was defeated by state Rep. Clark Hall and Scott Ellington in the May 22 Democratic primary.
