Gary Oxenhandler is a former circuit court judge for the 13th Circuit Court in Missouri.[1] He was appointed by former Governor Bob Holden to the bench in October 2002 to replace retiring Judge Frank Conley.[2][3]

Oxenhandler assumed the role of presiding judge when former presiding judge Gene Hamilton retired on September 30, 2010, and served in that capacity until January of 2013.[4] Oxenhandler was re-elected in 2004 and in 2010.[3] He served until April 2016, when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 years old.[5]

Education

Oxenhandler attended the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1968 for his undergraduate degree, and also attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for his J.D.[3][6]

Career

Oxenhandler has served as a judge for the 13th Circuit Court since his appointment in October of 2002. From March of 2010 to January of 2013, Oxenhandler served as presiding judge of the 13th Circuit Court.[3] Oxenhandler was in private practice in Columbia before serving the Circuit Court. He served in the U. S. Army from 1969 to 1970.[7]

Oxenhandler ran unopposed for re-election to the 13th Circuit Court and was re-elected on November 2, 2010, receiving 100 percent of the vote.[8][9]
