|worked for two Fortune 500 companies, an international software company, as an Executive Director for the YMCA and as CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Danville, VA. In addition, he has been the Board Chair for two youth serving non-profit organizations. Gary is a moderate, pragmatic problem solver that wants government to work efficiently. He believes that the federal government serves to protect its citizens and provides infrastructure for states, local governments and its citizens. As such, his priorities will focus on the areas of Economic Development, Healthcare, National Security and Good Governance. These four broad areas encompass health and welfare of citizens, protection of civil liberties, security from foreign threats, creating economically strong and thriving communities, and ensuring that the government continues to effectively serve all Americans. Gary wants to use the skills he developed in the military, private, and non-profit sectors
as a problem solver who can reach across the aisle to guarantee the rights, freedoms, and benefits government can provide when we set aside our differences and agree that America is one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.- Healthcare is a major issue in my campaign. As your representative, I will protect Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and will fight any attempts to privatize Social Security. I will work with others to introduce legislation to protect and ensure the solvency of these programs now and for future generations. In addition, I will work with others to streamline the healthcare system to make it more user friendly and to introduce legislation to cap the prices of drugs that are needed by citizens in our communities.
- I will protect the rights and civil liberties of all Americans regardless of race, color, creed, sexual orientation or religion. These rights include, but are not limited to a woman's right to choose without any interference from government, the right to vote and protecting the rights of those in the LBGTQ+ community. I promise that I will work tirelessly to enshrine women's rights in our Constitution. I believe in "putting people first" when creating and introducing legislation. As such, I will always consider the rights of citizens when crafting new legislation.
- Good Governance is a major driving point in my decision to seek office. It is my belief that the role of the federal government is to protect its citizens and to create the infrastructure so that state and local governments can be successful in creating thriving communities where all citizens have the opportunity to succeed. As your representative, it is my responsibility to work with others, regardless of political affiliation to solve the issues that our citizens see as important. In addition, it is my responsibility to be able to remain acutely aware of future needs and prepare our communities and government to help meet those needs.
I will work with administrators, teachers and parents to craft legislation to increase teacher's pay, increase the number of qualified teachers in our public school systems to reduce teacher/student classroom ratios, ensure that school buildings are up to date and to ensure that high speed internet is available.

Why Gary Terry is telling the status quo to STEP ASIDE! THE COST SHOULDN’T KILL US! Today, Gary confronts the urgent matter of price gouging in essential goods. To those shifting from rightful profit to cruel invasion of our essential supplies: step aside! Gary steps up to implementing strong measures that ensure consumers are protected and prices remain fair.
We face those who would deny a woman her rightful autonomy, who would tether us to a single narrative of family and choice. To them, our chorus rises: Step aside! We STEP UP for the sanctity of choice, for the liberty to forge families in all their diverse forms, to cherish and to nurture love that knows the bounds of respect and mutual consent. Details for health rights here.
When the specter of gun violence haunts our schools, our streets, what do we hear? Thoughts, prayers, and yet—hesitation. No more. To those who delay, who defer: Step aside! We are here to STEP UP, to enshrine safety alongside liberty, to uphold the promise of a nation secure and at peace. Details for the gun issue here. [3] |
