Gautam Raghavan was the White House personnel director for the Biden administration from 2021 to 2025.
President Joe Biden (D) announced he had selected Raghavan as White House personnel director on December 10, 2021. He replaced former Director Catherine Russell.[1]
Biography
Raghavan received a B.A. in science, technology, and society from Stanford University in 2004.[2]
During the Obama administration, he worked as a White House liaison for the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2011, and as an advisor and associate director of public engagement from 2011 to 2014.[2]
From 2018 to 2020, he served as Rep. Pramila Jayapal's (D-Wash.) chief of staff. Prior to his appointment to White House personnel director, he worked in the Biden Administration as deputy director of the office.[2]
