Gayle Nathan ran for election for the Department A judge of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court Family Division. Nathan lost in the primary on June 9, 2020.

Nathan was a candidate for District 1 representative on the Henderson Township Justice Court in Nevada. Nathan was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Nathan was a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Nevada. She served in the Clark County Family Court division, Department T. She was elected to the court on November 2, 2010, and took office on January 3, 2011.[1] Nathan was defeated in her bid for re-election in 2014, and she stepped down from the bench at the end of her term on January 1, 2015.[2]

Biography

Nathan received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton, her master's degree in special education from Long Island University, and her J.D. degree from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.[3][4] Nathan worked as an attorney in private practice for 21 years and maintained a family law practice for 16 years.[3]

Nathan ran for re-election to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
Primary: She was defeated in the primary on June 10, 2014, receiving 30.5 percent of the vote. She competed against Maria Maskall and Lisa Brown. [5][2]

2013 judicial performance evaluation

In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. Forty-eight percent of respondents voted in favor of keeping Nathan on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71 percent.[6]

2010

Nathan was elected to the Eighth Judicial District Court. She won 20.91 percent of the vote in the primary and advanced to the general election. Nathan defeated Carl F. Piazza in the general election with 57.45 percent of the vote.[7]
