- My first goal as a Pike County board member would be to enhance the immediate financial stabilization and transparency of our audits, which would include auditing departments and existing contracts to identify waste, redundancy and inefficient spending practices seeking justification of all expenditures from scratch rather than simply adjusting last year’s budgets, ensuring every resident can clearly see how their tax tax dollars are being spent in real time.
- My second goal would be enriching smart revenue generation and economic growth by focusing on state and federal grants, streamlining permitting to attract new job creators and small businesses which would grow the tax base through economic vitality - not higher taxes; utilizing County assets by conducting an inventory of under utilized properties and assets to explore options for generating new rental income development or sales revenue.
- I would also strive to implement operational efficiency and long-term planning by exploring shared services, prioritizing core services, such as public safety, infrastructure, maintenance, and crucial human services and work together to develop a five-year capital improvement plan. Lastly, but of no less importance, curbing debt and reviews of contracts and vendor bids while first and foremost, providing the accountability to taxpayers.
