Gene Stanton
Gene Stanton was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 4 of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Biography
Stanton earned his B.S. in social studies education from Florida International University in 1995. He went on to earn his master's degree in education from the University of Maryland, University College in 2004. He attended Hood College for additional master's credits in education administration.[1]
Professionally, Stanton has worked as a high school teacher since 1997. He also served as the president of Sea Spray Gardens Inns Corp. from 1995 through 2000 and president of Montreal Inns Corp. from 1992 through 1997.[1]
Elections
2014
Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Gene Stanton was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while David E. Vogt III and incumbents Kathy Afzali and Kelly Schulz defeated Barrie S. Ciliberti and Wendi W. Peters in the Republican primary. Vogt, Afzali and Schulz defeated Stanton in the general election.[2][3][4]
