General Assembly of North Carolina Legislative Analysis Division
The General Assembly of North Carolina Legislative Analysis Division is a nonpartisan legislative service agency providing general research needs for the General Assembly of North Carolina.

The Analysis Division is led by an executive director who oversees the day to day operations of the agency.[1]
Services offered
Bill drafting
While most requests for drafting bills are typically handled by the General Assembly's Bill Drafting Division, the legal experts in the Legislative Analysis Division also have the ability and often assist in creating laws for commissions or individual lawmakers.[2]
Committee staffing
Research and legal staff for most standing committees in the General Assembly are provided by the Analysis Division.[2]
Legislative library
A legislative library is provided by the Analysis Division. The library houses publications, General Assembly records, and a web-based resource service to help provide legislative information for General Assembly members and the public.[2]
