Superintendent
In the General Shafter School District, the appointed leader of the school district has the title of CAO instead of superintendent. Christopher R. Salyards is the CAO of the General Shafter School District.[1] Salyards was appointed CAO in June 2008. Salyards' previous career experience includes working as a business analyst in the Lamont School District.[2]

The General Shafter School District Board of Trustees consists of three members elected to four-year terms. Board members are elected at large.[3]
